Cool Britannia!

I've been thiking about the Queens Diamond Jubilee
and what I should do to mark this special year.
I've decided that I am going to make a limited edition of
60
Jubilee Corsages
Each one will be unique, a one of a kind design,
they will all be red, white and blue
and will use materials, ribbons, buttons and beads from the last 60 years
in all of them!
Some will have a vintage feel, others will be contemporary,
Some will be for everyday wear (to the Olympics maybe to spur on our team?)
and some for very special occassions (Jubilee Ball or Night at the Proms).
I've also decied to give 10% of all sales on these corsages
to a charity.
If you want to nominate a charity then please
leave a comment underneath this post).
You can buy them from my Folksy shop

  1. Hi I think it is a great idea and I love your corsages - I am a real fan of vintage. My nomination is a little known charity called
    http://www.dementiauk.org/
Their Admiral Nurses are a godsend to carers who care for people with dementia.

  3. I am involved with a charity called Positive Health. We support children and adults in Lincolnshire who are affected or infected by HIV/Aids. The stigma that still remains around HIV/Aids means that it isn't a glamorous thing to raise money for, and even some of the very well known cancer charities have refused services to people with HIV/Aids, due to fear and ignorance. We have a fund at Positive Health called the Chris Sinclair fund. People who use our service can apply to it for the things that they need, that they cant get for reasons associated with their HIV. For instance, one child got a trampoline for their garden, as their parent was too ill to take them far from home, and this meant they had an activity they could do at home. It might be for a good washing machine, if for reasons associated with the virus, bed sheets get very soiled often.

So there's my reasons why I think Positive Health is important, and how any money thats donated to them can make a massive difference

  5. Scolio Fundraise
It won't let me comment there on my phone but these look fab! I'd really like to nominate scolio. Scolio is something I set up after spending time on intensive care. My name is Jess and I am 14 years old I give gifts to children living with serious illnesses and conditions. These gifts can be anything from a book, toy or CD to a day out. A little something through the post puts a smile on a childs face :) xxxx would mean a lot if you could consider scolio

  13. What a wonderful idea! Your corsages are wonderful!

I would like to nominate the air ambulance, I raise money for them whenever possible, it may be me they have to come out to next.

I don't mind if you choose the air ambulance, that you go with one in your own locality, they all deserve our help and support to keep them in the air, but if you prefer to, we are in Berkshire, Royal County don't you know, plus our own future King has served within the RAF to support air and sea rescue, so very fitting with your Jubilee theme!

Which ever charity is chosen, they are all wonderful and thank you for the opportunity to nominate.
