Made me cry!

When I first started chatting to Michaela about her wedding, I knew it was going to be a very special day. Her thoughtfulness at each small detail was incredible and she seemed to care more about everyone else having a fantastic day than herself!

Two of Michaelas four children have NCH (which has a realllllllllly long name), an illness which means they are in wheelchairs and need 24hour care.
I was pleased when she said that she was having the sparkling backdrop as I knew that both Jenson and Lyla would be able to appreciate the sparkles!
The aisle runner was a surprise for her dad. What dad wouldnt want to hear this from his little girl? Queue the welling up of eyes when I was laying it (and the going frantic as guests in high heels walked over it - willing it not to rip before he saw it!!)

I set up the ceremony room (with my brilliant helper Lisa) and then we had to wait about for the couple to get married until we could get back in the room to decorate it for the reception.
I don't normally get to see the actual wedding so I was very excited at seeing Michaela in all her finery and waited patiently until all the guests were seated, best man and groom at the top of the aisle.
I have to say that Liam made me cry, pushing Lyla along in her wheelchair, he looked so proud, responsible and grown up... and then when I saw the "Daddy here comes mummy" sign on Lyla's lap, well, that was it for me.
T.J Followed on pushing Jenson who appeared to have nodded off and was completely oblivious to all the excitement around him. He carried the cushion with the rings on - he looked like an angel and again I got a lump in my throat.

Earlier that day, I had put all the special presents and cards out on the table for these children and was really touched at how Michaela had made sure that they all had special jobs and felt included in the ceremony.
Needless to say, they all looked amazing and we left the reception all set up ready for them to party on!

LOVE my job!

...and absolutely LOVED this fabulous cake topper that Michaela had made <3 font="">

That's rather personal...

I often get asked by brides "How can I make my wedding really unique and personal to us as a couple?". So I would like to share with you today some ways that real brides we have dealt with in the past managed this. I hope you enjoy reading about them and it inspires you to bring some personal creativity to your day...

Matt and Amy, Loved vintage and wanted Matts career in the RAF to be incorporated into their wedding...

Amy wore a pretty vintage style dress and we made her table plan from an upturned vintage suitcase and small frames - the tables were named after aircraft types.

I love this photo taken outside on the steps of the Grantham Guild Hall where the grooms RAF friends are all resplendent in their uniforms...

The brides mum made this fabulous fun cake topper of
Matt, Amy and their little girl...
Another vintage suitcase provided a place for guest to leave their cards
We provided Matt and Amy with mismatched china crockery for
their afternoon tea

Kelly had always dreamed of a Caribbean island wedding, but not wanting to spend that much money on their wedding day, they opted to bring the Caribbean to Lincolnshire!
Bright, bold and Desert Island

We made them a rich silk coloured ribbon backdrop for their ceremony table

The ceremony chairs were dressed in alternative rows of colour

We made HUGE paper pom poms to go with bright fresh flowers for the table centrepieces-
each table was a different colour

And a fun "message in a bottle" alternative to a guest book was made up

We gave the couple the suitcase to keep as a wedding pressie from us - to use as a memory box

Matt and Suzy choose Stoke Rochford Hall for their wedding, a stunning location and their theme was love and lace. Their tables were all named after special places in Italy for the couple and the decoration was simple and elegant...

We used a lot of gypsophelia at this wedding and decorated the table candelabra and fireplaces with it

We used a lace overlay over the teal satin sashes and tied them in a simple, classic, "overtie".

Jen & Wayne, wanted to incorporate their love of their allotment, beer drinking and steam trains into their wedding!! - here's how we did it...

Jen's bouquet included stems of Rosemary and thyme from their allotment

Ruth from Precision Wedding Coordinators lent me some wonderful old Hornby trains and accessories. The Steam train took pride of place on the top table, pulling trailers of freash flowers and again rosemary from their allotment.
Their table plan was centred around a vintage suitcase and tin plate train station from the 1940's
All aboard the wedding express! Destination - Party!!!
Guests took their luggage label table names to the bar to get them clipped for a complimentary drink
We sprayed beer bottles with gold paint and decorated them with Gyp' to represent the beers frothiness and some rosemary from the allotment -
the room smelt DIVINE! Jen and Wayne also had special bottles of beer brewed for their guests

Five very different weddings that Anniefloribunda has been involved with - all decorated to reflect the couples personalities. If you need help decorating your wedding and just dont know where to start, then please visit our albums on our facebook page or our website for lots of ideas!

Totally impractical diamante pumpkins

Sitting here typing, I've just noticed how covered in gold glitter I am!
Today there has been a lot of pink and gold experimentation in our house. I've been busy preparing for a photo shoot later on this month which is going to be absolutely beautiful, so make sure you come back to see our pics.
Pink and soft gold with ivory is a timeless, elegant colour theme and one of my favourites - so I am very excited about this!

My lovely neighbour, Fred, parted with some of the huge hydranger heads from his garden this morning.
I love them when they are at this stage, the petals are just starting to brown and look all gorgeously vintage.
I've given them a soft spray of pale pink and gold and we will be using some of these in the photo shoot, providing that they dry out ok.

I also had some fun decorating a pumpkin...

 - I sprayed it with soft pink and then added gold glitter glue and pale pink stick on diamante gems to the natural indentations.
Great fun, very girly and totally impractical!
 - Not suitable for my wedding shoot but would make a fab decoration over Halloween in a Cinderella Princess room!
Pumpkins don't have to be scary:-)
