Wedding colour trends 2015

Over the next few weeks we shall be picking and choosing our favourite pictures from the internet to show you how to work 2015's top trends and colours...

Here's the first...

MINT

We've chosen to mix it with pink and further down the page with pink and gold.
But it also looks good with silver, blush and lavender,

here's what we like so far...

Arrive in a pretty pink converted Herbie

Dress your bridesmaids in floaty mint green with pink corsages...
For more mature bridesmaids think of having corsages instead of posies,
that can be worn on their dress, bag or wrist

Light the reception with paper lanterns and pom poms...
For the best effect use a lot in a small area rather than spreading them too thinly around the room.

and serve your cakes on vintage china in a mismatch of pinks and mint...

Cakes are tall for 2015 and mismatched - Lots of different sizes and flavours
- placed on tiered shelving or dedicated cake tables

or add some golds or silver and you have another
completely bang on trend look ...

send out the invites to set the sparkling scene...

Urns are going to feature a lot in next years weddings decor-
all shapes, sizes, colours and textures - we love these gold ones

Dress tables and chairs with gold accents, sequins and chiffons

Have a ribbon/sash backdrop made in your colours
for behind your top table, gift or cake table

Add edible glitter to cake pops

and serve mini moets as favours
or have them as a warm up on the morning of the wedding
just for you and your girls

Go tall with your cake - four and five tiers are predicted to be big for next year as are painted and "gilded" cakes

However you do it -
we think that mint, pink and gold are a real winning combination!
Pop back in May to see one of our real weddings,
where the bride has chosen these colours to see what we do for her!
Here's a taste of what'to come...

Totally impractical diamante pumpkins

Sitting here typing, I've just noticed how covered in gold glitter I am!
Today there has been a lot of pink and gold experimentation in our house. I've been busy preparing for a photo shoot later on this month which is going to be absolutely beautiful, so make sure you come back to see our pics.
Pink and soft gold with ivory is a timeless, elegant colour theme and one of my favourites - so I am very excited about this!

My lovely neighbour, Fred, parted with some of the huge hydranger heads from his garden this morning.
I love them when they are at this stage, the petals are just starting to brown and look all gorgeously vintage.
I've given them a soft spray of pale pink and gold and we will be using some of these in the photo shoot, providing that they dry out ok.

I also had some fun decorating a pumpkin...

 - I sprayed it with soft pink and then added gold glitter glue and pale pink stick on diamante gems to the natural indentations.
Great fun, very girly and totally impractical!
 - Not suitable for my wedding shoot but would make a fab decoration over Halloween in a Cinderella Princess room!
Pumpkins don't have to be scary:-)

Red and Gold hearts

Making some more Christmas decorations. These are made from Fimo clay which air dries, so no need to bother with heating it/cooking it etc.
I rolled out the fimo clay onto a piece of greaseproof paper and then cut out the heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
I made a hole in the top of each one to thread my hanging ribbon/wire through and left them to dry. On two of them I made a small indenation (not going all the way through) so that I can add a pretty button (and shank) later.

When they had dried I painted them with some left over sample paint I had in a deep red colour.
I painted both sides and when dry, lay some odd scraps of lace ontop of them

I then sprayed the surface with gold paint and lifted off the lace. Some lace works better than others. I experiemented until i found a particular pattern that i liked and then used this "Fan" piece of lace to do most of them.

then I added some buttons and thin ribbon to hang.

I'm going to add these to some of my parcels this year, but they look equally as good as a tree/home decoration.
Thinking they would look great for a wedding gold or silver on white/ivory background??
Go share the love!
For a Nordic looking theme with this idea,
leave the hearts white and spray the lace red :-)

My new hang up - pure indulgence for the vintage bride!

I bought this beautiful Victorian lace from a lady whose parents worked in the Nottingham lace factories in the 1940's.
Not sure if this is Nottingham lace - it looks very French to me...
palest of gold in colour and intricate tiny lacework details - absolutely stunning!
Anyway, I have a lot of this and it's all stored in a box and not getting admired, so I decided to make something beautiful with it.
I decided to make a very special hanger for a very special dress. Afterall, we can spend hundreds of pounds on beautiful wedding dresses, so don't they deserve a little preferential treatment in the wardrobe?
Just look at the amazing detail in that lace - must have taken an age to make!
I've added mirror backed, mother of pearl and metal buttons
from the Victorian era through to the 1950's
Handle is bound in gold satin ribbon and finished with small vintage leaf brooch.
If you can't live without it - it will be in my folksy shop later at
