Concrete custard? How very on trend!

Part two - Colour trends for 2015 weddings.

Loving the fact that custard yellow and glacier grey are two of the colours forecast to trend in weddings for 2015 -

I adore this combination and have been searching around to put together a mood board to inspire you all.

Just have to wait for a bride to choose these colours now!

This colour scheme is fabulous for a Spring, woodland theme wedding, but sits equally as well in the urban jungle...

Hope you like this collection (from Pinterest)...
Spray paint is my best friend right now -
love these old frames that have been revamped

Forsythia, twigs and Lemons in glass vases make a strong contemporary statement -
I would have added lots of daisies to this too

Very dapper Groomsmen

Chevron invitations & decorations

just look at the detailing on this cake - beautiful!

and again - home made lemonade as favours or
make it more grown up with egg flip
or cups of jelly and custard!

Wedding colour trends 2015

Over the next few weeks we shall be picking and choosing our favourite pictures from the internet to show you how to work 2015's top trends and colours...

Here's the first...

MINT

We've chosen to mix it with pink and further down the page with pink and gold.
But it also looks good with silver, blush and lavender,

here's what we like so far...

Arrive in a pretty pink converted Herbie

Dress your bridesmaids in floaty mint green with pink corsages...
For more mature bridesmaids think of having corsages instead of posies,
that can be worn on their dress, bag or wrist

Light the reception with paper lanterns and pom poms...
For the best effect use a lot in a small area rather than spreading them too thinly around the room.

and serve your cakes on vintage china in a mismatch of pinks and mint...

Cakes are tall for 2015 and mismatched - Lots of different sizes and flavours
- placed on tiered shelving or dedicated cake tables

or add some golds or silver and you have another
completely bang on trend look ...

send out the invites to set the sparkling scene...

Urns are going to feature a lot in next years weddings decor-
all shapes, sizes, colours and textures - we love these gold ones

Dress tables and chairs with gold accents, sequins and chiffons

Have a ribbon/sash backdrop made in your colours
for behind your top table, gift or cake table

Add edible glitter to cake pops

and serve mini moets as favours
or have them as a warm up on the morning of the wedding
just for you and your girls

Go tall with your cake - four and five tiers are predicted to be big for next year as are painted and "gilded" cakes

However you do it -
we think that mint, pink and gold are a real winning combination!
Pop back in May to see one of our real weddings,
where the bride has chosen these colours to see what we do for her!
Here's a taste of what'to come...

Made me cry!

When I first started chatting to Michaela about her wedding, I knew it was going to be a very special day. Her thoughtfulness at each small detail was incredible and she seemed to care more about everyone else having a fantastic day than herself!

Two of Michaelas four children have NCH (which has a realllllllllly long name), an illness which means they are in wheelchairs and need 24hour care.
I was pleased when she said that she was having the sparkling backdrop as I knew that both Jenson and Lyla would be able to appreciate the sparkles!
The aisle runner was a surprise for her dad. What dad wouldnt want to hear this from his little girl? Queue the welling up of eyes when I was laying it (and the going frantic as guests in high heels walked over it - willing it not to rip before he saw it!!)

I set up the ceremony room (with my brilliant helper Lisa) and then we had to wait about for the couple to get married until we could get back in the room to decorate it for the reception.
I don't normally get to see the actual wedding so I was very excited at seeing Michaela in all her finery and waited patiently until all the guests were seated, best man and groom at the top of the aisle.
I have to say that Liam made me cry, pushing Lyla along in her wheelchair, he looked so proud, responsible and grown up... and then when I saw the "Daddy here comes mummy" sign on Lyla's lap, well, that was it for me.
T.J Followed on pushing Jenson who appeared to have nodded off and was completely oblivious to all the excitement around him. He carried the cushion with the rings on - he looked like an angel and again I got a lump in my throat.

Earlier that day, I had put all the special presents and cards out on the table for these children and was really touched at how Michaela had made sure that they all had special jobs and felt included in the ceremony.
Needless to say, they all looked amazing and we left the reception all set up ready for them to party on!

LOVE my job!

...and absolutely LOVED this fabulous cake topper that Michaela had made <3 font="">
