Wedding colour trends 2015

Over the next few weeks we shall be picking and choosing our favourite pictures from the internet to show you how to work 2015's top trends and colours...

Here's the first...

MINT

We've chosen to mix it with pink and further down the page with pink and gold.
But it also looks good with silver, blush and lavender,

here's what we like so far...

Arrive in a pretty pink converted Herbie

Dress your bridesmaids in floaty mint green with pink corsages...
For more mature bridesmaids think of having corsages instead of posies,
that can be worn on their dress, bag or wrist

Light the reception with paper lanterns and pom poms...
For the best effect use a lot in a small area rather than spreading them too thinly around the room.

and serve your cakes on vintage china in a mismatch of pinks and mint...

Cakes are tall for 2015 and mismatched - Lots of different sizes and flavours
- placed on tiered shelving or dedicated cake tables

or add some golds or silver and you have another
completely bang on trend look ...

send out the invites to set the sparkling scene...

Urns are going to feature a lot in next years weddings decor-
all shapes, sizes, colours and textures - we love these gold ones

Dress tables and chairs with gold accents, sequins and chiffons

Have a ribbon/sash backdrop made in your colours
for behind your top table, gift or cake table

Add edible glitter to cake pops

and serve mini moets as favours
or have them as a warm up on the morning of the wedding
just for you and your girls

Go tall with your cake - four and five tiers are predicted to be big for next year as are painted and "gilded" cakes

However you do it -
we think that mint, pink and gold are a real winning combination!
Pop back in May to see one of our real weddings,
where the bride has chosen these colours to see what we do for her!
Here's a taste of what'to come...

All of the images above can be found on Pinterest under the search "pink mint gold wedding"

Vintage china table plan

The remit was for "an Autumnal table plan, that is a bit rustic and a bit vintage- using orange as a main colour"...

I used an upturned vintage apple crate and hung some pretty vintage plates that I had, on to it with "Mr & Mrs" ribbon...

I'm really pleased with the result - what do you think?

Hidden treasures!!!

Nothing much planned for tomorrow...
wonder if I can persuade Mr H that he wants to go rummaging at the old co-op in Horncastle - not only can you find hidden treasures here
they also have a talking parrot in the shop!
Pleeeeeeeeeeeease can we go Mr H???

We're all mad in Wonderland

Table layout photo shoot on Sunday, so I am busy trying out new ideas for our "mad hatters tea party table"...
Wanted to create something a little different as a centre piece...
This is as far as I've got so far...

Hung a children's china tea set and assorted keys, etc from the candelabra with thin ribbons...

Using this broken clock as my prop of "I'm late...I'm late... for a very important date!!" - Just need to add some labels to that effect and have found some great free printables on pinterest that I'm going to use...

The lovely big red swirly lollipops (like the Cheshire Cats eyes!!) will go into a vintage milk jug as will all the flowers... vintage... vintage...vintage!!!

This would be perfect for an Alice in Wonderland party/wedding.

Cant wait to see it all laid out with labels, invites, place names, vintage china etc etc - come back and have a look next week for our photo's.

Happy Vintage Christmas

I've been busily decorating the house today for Christmas :-)
Christmas songs blaring out and a little glass of my home made cassis
all added to the occassion and now I'm getting ready for the first
Christmas party of the season tonight.

Thought I would put all my "vintage" christmas dec' finds together ths year and mix in some new one's too on the kitchen plate rack - enjoy!

The china choir boy and the plastic Father Christmas are my favourites.
Can't wait for Christmas - it's the only time I use my special 1950's crockery :-)
