Beautiful Burlap Wedding

I've been engrossed in a beautiful rustic wedding this week
and shall be back next week to show you real life photo's
of all the goodies I have been making for it!

But I couldn't wait to show you these lovely burlap roses I've made x

I was so pleased with how they've come out,
I think I am going to add some Anniefloribunda magic
and make a bouquet with them...

Photocall at The Manor House, Woodhall Spa

How exciting!
We've been asked if we would style a wedding photo shoot
for the newly refurbished Manor House in Woodhall Spa.

The remit is a rustic country theme, using lots of lace and hessian (burlap), wooden crates etc.
Such a beautiful setting to be dressing...
We can't wait...
Autumn will be in full swing when we do the shoot, so all of the beautiful coloured trees are going to make the grounds look outstanding!
I'm borrowing bails of hay and bringing carved/inked pumpkins too,
weather permitting we shall be decorating inside and out!
Pop back at the end of October to see the photo's...

Shabby Chic pressie to myself...

I wanted a nice shabby chic looking, floral chair for my sewing room and rather than spend a fortune on one, I decided to make one as a gift for myself, for all my hard work over the last year!!

I took one of our old Bentwood chairs that had some water damage on it and was in desperate need of a revamp... I covered it in napkin decoupage.

Then I coated it in several layers of matt varnish...

I got the napkins from Tescos, although I think they look quite Kidstonesque!
Anyway, this is my homemade Christmas pressie from me, to me.
A chair for my sewing room :-)
What do you think of it?

Sunflowers

Helping out a freind in his florists the other day and wanted to share these beautiful, vibrant sunflowers with you... even with the rain pouring down outside, you look at these and you are immediately transported to a sunny day!
